No, the deeper has its own WiFi network that you connect to. The deeper extender will extend that range allowing you to cast / or boat the deeper further away from your position
The deeper has its own WiFi. All Mobile data must be switched off and only WiFi left on. As long as you keep your smartphone at the front of the swim, chest height with no obstructions connectivity should be fine.
